US government releases transcripts of Gh
It was the most unusual of encounters. A
month ago, a top team of US justice
officials headed into a federal building
to interview Galain Maxwell. She's the
former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein,
and she's now serving 20 years for sex
trafficking offenses.
Audio files of those prison
conversations have just been released.
And Maxwell says the president never
behaved inappropriately. Did you ever
observe um President Trump receive a
massage?
>> Never. Epstein's if he had whatever the
nature of the president's
friendship, if you will, or however you
want to define that with Epstein, I was
never witnessed. I think they were
friendly like people are in social
settings. I don't I don't think they
were close friends or I certainly never
witnessed the president in any of I
don't recall ever seeing him in his
house for instance. I actually never saw
the president in any type of massage
setting. I never witnessed the president
in any inappropriate setting in any way.
The president was never inappropriate
with anybody
in the times that I was with him. He was
a gentleman in all respects. Of
course, Trump's critics will say this is
what Maxwell was always likely to say in
her bid for a presidential pardon.
>> But Maxwell also appeared to clear
former President Bill Clinton.
>> There was that, you know, they claim
they went on the plane 26 times or
whatever. That would be one journey. So
they spent time on the plane together
and I don't believe there was ever a
massage on the plane. So that would have
been the only time that I think that
President Clinton could have even
received a massage and he didn't. Many
Americans have long speculated about a
secret black book of Epstein's clients
that might incriminate a large number of
the Washington elite. But on this as
well, Maxwell was clear.
>> Did you know of the existence of any
such list?
>> There is no list. We'll start with that.
The genesis of that story I can actually
trace for you from its absolute
inception if that is what you're
interested in. After these interviews,
Maxwell was glimpsed returning to the
Florida prison. But days later, without
explanation, she was transferred to a
minimum security facility in Texas. She
maintains her belief that Epstein was
murdered in that New York prison cell.
>> I do not believe he died by suicide. No.
>> And do you believe that um
do you have any speculation or view of
who killed him?
>> I No, I don't. No one can know at this
stage whether this Maxwell information
is accurate or can be trusted, but the
White House will certainly portray this
to their supporters as a belated attempt
at transparency.
